About Tanganyika Minerals Ltd

Tanganyika Minerals Ltd is a Lithuanian-owned mineral trading and export company in Burundi, East Africa, established in 2019. From our branch offices in Bujumbura and Ngozi we buy, test and export ITSCI-traceable wolframite, cassiterite and coltan for international buyers.

Mining in Burundi

Burundi’s mining sector still holds large unexploited potential in ore processing and diversification. The country’s main mineral exports are ores of tin, tantalum and tungsten – the 3T minerals – alongside some gold and gemstones.

Mining is the second largest export sector of Burundi’s economy: in 2014 it generated approximately USD 210.6 million in foreign exchange. All mineral exports from Burundi can be traced through a tagging system accepted by downstream buyers, systematic exploration continues to define new deposits, and an investor-friendly legal and policy framework supports a stable sector.
