Minerals & specifications

Wolframite, cassiterite and coltan from Burundi, plus beryl and lithium under our export licence. Every lot is tested, ITSCI-tagged and shipped with full traceability and export documentation.

Wolframite tungsten ore from Burundi

Wolframite

Tungsten ore

Wolframite is the main ore of tungsten – the metal with the highest melting point of all elements (3,422 °C), used in cemented carbides, superalloys, welding electrodes and radiation shielding. Wolframite is our lead export: we supply concentrate from Burundi’s tungsten belt and are open to long-term offtake agreements.

Metal

Open for offtake agreements

Cassiterite tin ore

Cassiterite

Tin ore

Cassiterite is the most important source of tin, used in electronics solders, tinplate and chemicals. Its high density and resistance to weathering let it concentrate in alluvial deposits. We source cassiterite concentrate from licensed Burundian operators; every lot is tagged and documented under ITSCI.

Coltan tantalum ore (tantalite)

Coltan

Tantalum ore

Coltan (columbite-tantalite) is the main source of tantalum, used in capacitors for electronics and in superalloys. Coltan on the international market generally contains a minimum of 30% Ta2O5, while lower-grade material with a minimum of 20% Ta2O5 may also be of interest. The payable value is based on the Ta2O5 content alone; Nb2O5 is generally not paid.

Metal

Typical market grade

Min. 30% Ta2O5 (min. 20% for lower-grade material)

Documentation

Ta2O5 assay certificate, ITSCI tags, ICGLR export certificate

Beryl beryllium ore

Beryl

Beryllium ore

Beryl is the principal ore of beryllium, a light, stiff metal used in aerospace alloys and electronics. Beryl is part of our licensed export portfolio.
